WHO ARE WE
We are a student run service organization dedicated to giving back to the community
Originally founded by high schooler Lawrence Jia, Step Into Sports initially started as a way to reach the required 40 service hours to graduate. However, Step Into Sports swiftly grew from a simple service project into a comprehensive service club. Now, we are in the process of even applying for a 501c3!
Step Into Sports gives many opportunities every month for high school students to volunteer and earn service hours by teaching elementary students how to a variety of sports. We are currently working with multiple schools throughout Fremont, and if you are interested in collaborating with us, please reach out in the Contacts section!

We Bring Learning Opportunities Straight to Your School
According to the Aspen Institute’s latest youth sports survey, the average family pays $883 annually for one child’s primary sport. However, just like any other school subject, sports should be accessible to every student who is interested. Every child, irrespective of their socio-economic background, should have the opportunity to participate in a sport they like. Step Into Sports was founded on the principle of making sports accessible to all children, aiming to provide every young person with the opportunity to take part in athletic pursuits, acquire new abilities, and enjoy the number of benefits that come from participating in sports.

Step Into Sport’s mission extends beyond just giving every kid an opportunity to learn a sport they love; it is also about instilling the core values of teamwork, perseverance, and respect within each participant. We believe that through sports, we can teach valuable life lessons, encourage healthy lifestyles, and foster a sense of community among participants.
